Scientific articles published in international editions are translated into English. Therefore, the author must not only have a good understanding of the topic, but also master the foreign language.
Even if the scientist knows English perfectly well, his work should be proofread, corrected and edited to correct errors and mistakes. Companies specializing in academic proofreading and editing of academic texts help in this.

Professional translators help to improve the quality of the finished work. They eliminate language errors; make the text structured and concise.

Preparing a research paper

To begin with, the author needs to choose a suitable journal and familiarise himself with the review of posted articles with similar topics. It is necessary to pay attention to how the works of other scientists are written: what is included in the main section, how the headings are designed, etc.

After choosing a print edition, you can start writing an article in accordance with the established requirements. Each journal has its own specifics, which the author should know and take into account when writing the document. For example, some international publications require a separate paragraph for ‘related work’. This is the literature review in the introduction.

Most academic papers are formatted according to the IMRAD standard, which includes four parts:

  1. introduction — reveals the purpose and subject of the study;
  2. methods — a description of the work done and the tools used.
  3. results — conclusions: results - conclusions and their confirmation;
  4. discussion — a description of the prospects, possibilities of using the results of the research.

Writing a research paper is a complex, long process. It can take up to a year. Finished articles are checked by editors, reviewed. And if they are returned for revision, the publication time increases even more.

Submission for publication

If the scientific article is prepared in Russian, it will be necessary to make a translation into English. In this case, the translator must be a good linguist and understand the topic on which the work is written.
The finished scientific text is subject to anti-plagiarism check. The average uniqueness rate of a scientific article is 75-90%.

The document should be analysed for compliance with the requirements of the international journal where it will be placed. Identified shortcomings should be promptly eliminated. Particular attention is paid to the logic of the narrative, linguistic features, compliance with the rules of scientific style.
It is better to entrust the verification of the finished scientific article to experts in academic proofreading. As soon as the publication is edited, it can be sent to the international edition.
